Frank Milby and Arlene Cameron completed a 2018 sweep of the respective driver and trainer titles when the fall meet at Rosecroft ended Dec. 16. The driving title went down to the final night of racing. Milby didn’t find the winner’s circle but ended the meet with 45 victories, one more than Russell Foster, who won two races on the final card. The 2019 winter/spring meet at Rosecroft will begin a little earlier and end a little earlier under a schedule approved by the Maryland Racing Commission Dec. 13. The four-month calendar of racing shows a starting date of Wednesday, Feb. 6, with the final program set for Saturday, May 18—Preakness Stakes day. This year, the meet ended May 31. Racing will be held for the most part Sundays (first post time 4:40 p.m.) and Wednesdays (first race 6:40 p.m.). There will be racing t

With two nights of action remaining, it appears the driving title will go down to the wire. Frank Milby now leads Russell Foster 43-42 at the top of the standings, followed by Jonathan Roberts with 29, John Wagner with 26 and Jason Thompson with 23 to round out the top five. The Potomac Pace program this past Sunday produced some excellent action and a rarity—two dead-heats for win. Congratulations go to the connections of 14-year-old Foiled Again, who won an “invitational” as part of his farewell tour to get victory No. 107 in his career. Foiled Again Wins for the 107th Time FORT WASHINGTON, MD – Western Fame, sitting the perfect pocket trip with Maryland native Corey Callahan in the sulky, went by 7-5 favorite Filibuster Hanover down the stretch to win the $100,000 Potomac Pace Sunday evening at Rosecroft Raceway.
