Frank Milby and Arlene Cameron completed a 2018 sweep of the respective driver and trainer titles when the fall meet at Rosecroft ended Dec. 16.

The driving title went down to the final night of racing. Milby didn’t find the winner’s circle but ended the meet with 45 victories, one more than Russell Foster, who won two races on the final card. Jonathan Roberts and John Wagner each had 29 wins to tie for third, and Jason Thompson rounded out the top five with 25 wins.

Milby won the winter/spring meet title at Rosecroft with 56 wins for a total of 101 for the year at the Maryland track. Foster was second with 83 wins, followed by Roger Plante Jr. (65), Wagner (57) and Jason Green (46).

Cameron completed the fall session with 27 victories, followed by trainers Brian Wright (15), Megan Roberts (12), Phil Jasper (11) and Ken Schlotzhauer (10). Cameron topped the winter/spring meet standings with 23 wins, three more than Roberts.

For both meets combined, Cameron collected 50 wins. The top five was completed by Roberts (32); Schlotzhauer (28); and Brittany Bounds and John Hollingsworth, who each had 25.

For all of 2018, 13 drivers had more than 20 wins at Rosecroft and 16 trainers collected 10 or more victories.

Rock N’ Roll Jet, owned by Dawn Webb and trainer Buddy Bright, topped all horses by earnings at Rosecroft in 2018 at $57,860 on a record of eight wins in 18 starts and was awarded Pacer of the Meet.

Trotter of the Meet was awarded to Fashion Smile, who won all 3 of his starts during the Fall 2018 meet. Fashion Smile is owned by William DeLodovico, Jr and trained by Megan Tolson.

Live racing is scheduled to return to Rosecroft Feb. 6 for the winter/spring meet that runs through May 18.
