RACING APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE FOR

ROSECROFT FALL –WINTER MEET

 

 (Fort Washington, MD – August 10, 2013)   Racing applications are now available for the 2013 Rosecroft Raceway Fall – Winter meet which commences Saturday, September 14 and runs 29 dates through December 21.

 

Applications are available at www.rosecroft.com in the “Horsemen” section.   The applications should be completely filled out and returned to the Racing Office by August 24, 2013.  

 

The meet will start off with a purse increase in most conditions of 10 to 15% bringing the average overnight purses to over $57,000.   Maryland owned, sired, trained and foal horses will once again have preference in all races at Rosecroft.   Races exclusively for Maryland preferred horses with at least seven (7) betting interests will carry a bonus purse enhancement of 20%.   In addition all horses finishing 6th or worse will receive $100.

 

“We are looking forward to a great start to our fall meet,” said newly appointed Racing Secretary Peter Hanley.    “The first condition sheet should be released shortly and I think horsemen will find plenty of opportunities for their horses,” Hanley added.

 

Qualifiers prior to the start of the meet will be conducted on Tuesday, September 10 at 11 a.m.   Entries will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Monday, September 9.

 

The regular draw schedule will be Wednesday for Saturday races and Thursday for Tuesday races.    The entry box will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.   Scratches and drivers changes will be the day following the draws until 10 a.m.   Entries can be made through the Racing Office at (301) 567-4435.

 

Horsemen are also advised that the updated Rosecroft Raceway/Penn National Gaming Racing Guide will be posted on the track’s website as of August 19.    Horsemen should be familiar with the guide and its rules and regulations prior to participating in racing at Rosecroft.

 

Rosecroft will conduct live racing every Tuesday and Saturday evening starting September 14 with a first race post time of 7:25 p.m.    The track is open daily for harness and thoroughbred simulcasting.   Admission and parking are always free.
