Braden wins four in his Rosecroft return

Driver Corey Braden returned to Rosecroft on a wet, windy Tuesday night and won four of nine drives. He added a place finish and two thirds including grabbing the show dough on 264 to 1 Nothing Wrong in the sixth race.

Braden’s wins came in the opener with trainer Sherif Cunmalaj’s Happy Hal, who is named in honor of the late “Happy Hal” Belote. This one is owned by Ken and Charles Tisa of NJ.  Braden returned to the winners circle with Talbot Redneck after the seventh race for owner-trainer Kenny Schlotzhauer after a sharp wire to wire score. David Donohue is part owner of the winner. Super Lustre was Braden’s next drive and win. This one also went wire to wire for trainer “Freddie” Collazo. Super Lustre set a new lifetime mark over a track rated as good for co-owners Deborah Merritt and James Davis. Braden made it a training double for trainer Sherif Cunmalaj scoring an easy win with Baby Blaze in the eleventh. Anthony Toma owns the winner.

Speaking of returnees driver Frank Milby scored a double with Caviart Tyler and Head of the Barn.

Another notable winner on the night included fan favorite I Told Gordy for owner-trainer Thomas Swann, in rein to Justin Brenneman. ‘Gordy had been facing tough ones at Harrah’s Philadelphia and enjoyed returning to Rosecroft.

The night’s fastest mile was turned in by Complete Desire driven by defending leading driver Justin Vincent for trainer Eugene Startt. This one sat last off a 56.4 opening half and absolutely paced out of his skin in a 55 final half to score in a time of 1:52.3 for owner Brian Vest.

Rosecroft draws tomorrow (box open noon to three pm) for Saturday night’s card and on Thursday (same times) for next Tuesday’s card.
